Wow I just realized I haven't blogged all year. Shame on me. So much has changed since I last wrote. Benito got a promotion at his job as did I:) He's a truck supervisor at Nabors and I'm a personal banker at American State Bank. I love my job! Benito likes his for the most part but at times it's a little stressful because his phone never stops ringing. He is very good at his job and I'm so proud of him.

We went to Dallas at the begining of this month to my cousins quincenera. We visitied with our good friends and went to a Dallas Mavericks vs. Lakers which by the way was insanely awesome. We had so much fun in Dallas and we even mad a new set of friends from La Redo (idk if it's spelt right). I loved being around my best friend and our other friends that live there. Benito and I have discusssed moving there and pray this is what God wants for us. Hopefully we can pack up and move to Dallas someday!

WOW!! I have been out of the blog world for a few months. Sorry to anyone who reads this. I've been busy working full time! I was offered a promotion at American State Bank not long after I started and am now the commercial teller. Anywho enough about me my husband also got a new job at Nabors. We both have been busy working working.....story of our lives. Woohooo the TEXAS RANGERS MADE IT TO THE WORLD SERIES!! HOW AMAZING! Sorry I know that was a lil random!! Ummm lets see what else.....I would really like to move back to lubbock! I need to get on a diet!!! I've been so bad! Why is it so hard to be healthy?? Maybe it isn't but for me I've always struggled with my weight! I'm really going to try and be better at watching what I eat! I hope it works this time, I feel like thats all I keep telling myself that I'm not goin to eat bad but for some reason idk why its not happening!!:( My husband and I went and visited with a very good friends of ours at the beginning of this month in Hobbs NM!! We had a blast although I was trying to get over my sinus infection at the time! We went to the horse races and the casino!! I'm not a big gambler but I had an amazing time at the horse races. We bet on a few races and won about 3!! We win a grand total of 60!!! Hmmmm.......what else has been going on?????????? I can't believe BEnbito and I will be married a WHOLE year GOD willing in about a week! Its crazy how time flies when you're having fun! We were goin to go to San Antonio but since Benito switched jobs we wont be able to go anywhere but as long as we get to spend our day together thats all that matters! We're belssed and as long as we have eachother it will be special!! Well I just thought I would post since its been a awhile! I can't belive its going to be a whole other year that has passed us by. Halloween is in a couple of days and I want to dress up and go out but I have no costume! It seemed har to find a costume this year! Who knows what I'll be! Have a lovely and fun Halloween!! Where have I been...

I was in Lubbock for about a 2 weeks and a half. I missed my husband so much! I was very glad to be done with training and finally get to work! I'm now a teller at american state bank! I was so scared today to be actually working with "real" money! It's scary knowing you're dealing with peoples money but also feels good to be given such a big responsibility! This month has been filled with lots of fun and buisiness! We started off July taking a trip to San Marcos with some friends where we floated the river and shopped!! OMG I fell in love with outlet mall!! I want to go back so bad!! We had a lot of fun. If you haven't floated the river you should definitly do it!! It's very relaxing. As soon as we got home from our mini vacay I was off for training!! This weekend Benito is standing up in a friends wedding then the following I'm in my bff's wedding! It's such a blessing for those who are committing their lives to one another. Well other than our busy month things have been amazing! Sorry it's such a short post! I'm so ready for our 2 weddings coming up this weekend and next weekend!! FUN FUN FUN! And since a post isn't complete without a picture.....Hope you all enjoy the rest of the summer!!

My life has taken a complete 180 since I last posted. Afterall Benito had been through we recieved what I like to call a "blessing in disguise." He received a phone call from his old job Globe the week after he had dislocated his shoulder. They wanted him to come back to work for them for better pay! Alleluia! We are very blessed. He is very pleased and happy to be back where he began his journey in the oil field. I'm so happy for him because I know all the stress from him being in a bike accident to dislocating his shoulder was really taking a toll on him. I can see now he is happy as can be and stress free. As for me I recently quit my job. I dislike the word "quit." Although I cannot explain fully what made our decision for me quit my job, I know God has a plan for me which is to continue my education. I'm excited about being able to go back to school. God willing I will go back in the fall and fufill my dream to become a nurse. I've been very stressed because I was offered a full time job at a dr.'s office but Im not sure whether to take the job or not. A part of me feels like I should and the other part feels that I need to focus on goin to school. The only problem with school is that I owe money to the college I attended before I moved to Snyder and in order for me to further my education here I must pay off a remaining balance in full at my prior college. Eeeeeekkk!! I'm stressed! I know God has a plan and I don't feel like taking the full time job is the right thing to do because in the fall I will have to quit to put my focus on school~but then what if I don't get to go to school in the fall because I'm not able to have my balance paid off and all these what if's are going through my mind.........I wish a light in my brain would just flick on and tell me what to do! My husband reassures me that everything will be ok and I should take it day by day but also feels like I shouldn't make a full time job commitment that I may have to break...................................................................I will continue you to pray about it but I have to call the dr.'s office back today with my decision???

Good Life

This will be a quick post but I just wanted to post what a blessing our life has been. Benito has been through so much lately from getting in a motorcycle accident, dislocating his shoulder, and trying to heal from all this and his sickness. I've been trying to workout, and study for my upcoming licensing exam I will be takin on the 28th of this month!! Agghh wish me luck! Anyways along with all this going on our good Lord has continued to bless us and keep us healthy, happy, and loving with one another. I could not imagine our life without Jesus. He is so amazing!

Last weekend Benito and I went and watched Nightmare on Elm Street I have to say it was pretty lame in my opnion but we did have a good date night! Saturday we had dinner with both our parents at one of our favorite places in Snyder~ Spanish Inn....yummy just typing that made my mouth water. After dinner we went and hung out with some good friends and didn't end our night until about 3ish sunday morning. We are crazy and love to have a great time. Where to start?? We are very blessed! Thank you Lord for watching over us and all that you do!! Benito honestly is the back bone of his family! He mentioned to me that he missed his family. I never knew how important your brothers and sisters are until I felt the emtion by Benito. He was truly sad about missing his family and mind you we are not far from them. Benito is always busy with work and being that he just started a new job he has to complete his 90 day probation period(hes on call for 90 days and can not go out of town) so we are very limited on time. I apologized to my husband because I gave him a hard time about missing his family. I was so mean about it and I cannot believe the way I treated him. Oh my goodness it makes me sad to even think of the way I reacted when he was upset about missing his family. It was until he told me " when you do not get to see Jude(my bother) for one day, you miss him." I love my brother so much and hate not being able to see him. We are very far apart in age but I love him with all my heart. I love our families, but the love anyone has for their siblings is so different. I cannot even find the words to describe it. With that being said husband, I'm so sorry and thank you so much for making realize the importance of our siblings.

Benito's birthday was Monday April 12th! He turned 26! I invited all of his family to come down last weekend. We celebrated his birthday and had so much fun! He was so happy to see all of his family and I'm so thankful everyone came. We missed his oldest sister Monica! Benito is the 2nd oldest of 5! He has 2 nieces, Ariel and Heaven. I love them. We started off Saturday with hamburgers and hot dogs fresh off the grill!! We hung out at the house for awhile and shot some skeet with the shotgun! We went to Hermleigh's grand ol' park. I remember goin to that park as a kid. It's still the same and was neat taking Benito's family there. We played some basketball and I watched Benito entertain his brothers and sister. He played duck duck goose and got on the see saw(not sure if thats how its spelt) with his neices and made us laugh. We made it home and took some time to unwind. We bought a lot of food probably to feed an army and were getting ready to Q it up!!! But then......dun dun dun my poor husband got on his dads motorcyle and had an accident with the tree:(:( We rushed him to the ER and he had to get xrays and a tetnus shot. Thank the Lord he spranged his foot and didn't break anything. I was scared to death!! I'm so glad he got out of the wreck with a spranged ankle. It was bad and I know Jesus was watching over us! After he was released from the ER we ordered pizza and tried to calm down because we were all very shooken up. God is so amazing! He continues to bless us! Although Benito was in a lot of pain he was still able to keep his promises to his neices and camped out in our backyard! He's so sweet! We slept in a big o tent! Sunday came and we made up our bbq! It was delicious!! We are so blessed and take so many things for granted! I'm thankful for everything we have and are able to do. Thank you Lord for everything!!! I love you!

Monday

Today has been one busy day at work! I was by myself for most of the day! The morning was nice and quiet! Lunch time rolled around and boy did it get hectic! I'm glad it was busy because it makes the day go by fast! I've been studying to get my insurance license, and it hasn't been the easiest! I'm hoping and praying that I can get this done before April is over! I signed up for the classes at the end of February and I feel like I haven't accomplished much. I can say that while I thought I would be so dedicated to getting it over and done with I have been the complete opposite. I feel it's because after working 8:30-5:30 and workout at 5:45 on tues,wed, and thurs I'm beat! I go home and figure out what's for dinner all while tryin to pick up and keep the house tidy. Keeping the house tidy has been pretty easy(it's been one of my new year resolutions) not that my home is always dirty but theres always lil things here and there you know how it is! Anywho as I was saying about studying for my insurance license I really pray that I can push myself even when I'm tired to study study study as much as I can.
Over the weekend Benito got himself a big ol' riding lawnmower. My husband is such a hard worker and I'm sure people have heard me say this over and over but he truly is and I will probably tell people that about him for the rest of our lives. He fought with my parents riding lawn mower all last year and bit this year. We have a pretty big peice of land I think its a little more than an acre(which reminds me I need to post pictures of our place) so it has a lot of yard work to keep up with! Benito is very proud of our little place while me on the other hand is still tryin to accept it. I need to not be this way but I cannot help it! This home has so many memories in it and around it. It's not that I am not proud of it but there are days I'm so happy we have this lil place to call home and then other days I wish we had all the money in the world to fix it up and have it the way we want it. I am thankful we have it and I'm belssed to have it. Please forgive me Lord for sounding so ungreatful. I promise I will be proud for what Benito and I have. I will be posting picutres soon of our lil casa.
It used to be Amas and Apas(my grandparents on my moms side) home where many of my aunts and uncles grew up. Benito and I always hear different stories from my aunts and uncles, they each have their own, how cool is that? It was built in 1954!

Ok so while I have not been stressed this whole time in planning my wedding, this past weekend I can say I will deffinitely be experiencing some stress in these last 54 days! OMG I cannot believe it's 54 days away! There is still so much stuff to do but I know with the help of the good Lord above he will make all things possible**deep breath** This weekend we are going to get the rest of the stuff for our invitations so we can start making them, and look for flower girl dresses, yes I have yet to find a flower girl dress that I like! I wll get fitted for my dress the first wkend of October and then hopefully take my bridal pictures the same wkend. We have to start buying briskets for our comida! I still need to get all the stuff for the centerpieces, and the list doesn't end there! But it's ok! As you can see the list goes on and on and on and ON haha just thought I would share a lil bit of what was on my mind.

Benito and I bought my grandma and grandpas old house on my moms side. It's deffinitely a fixer upper home but I'm so excited! It will take time but we will get it done slowly but surely. We wanted to move into it asap but we thought we might as well fix like we want it! So here is a few pics of some demolishing we've done. Or shall I say Benito and my cousin did some demolishing! It's also on a good piece of land so I'm super excited about what we can do with it!

Ok so I'm so behind on blogging!! I ordered my dress!! Woohoo I cannot wait!! On a further note I'm still trying to decide on center pieces???? I have all these thoughts in my head but I'm not very creative. I would like to do something simple and classy! I found these centerpieces while I was blog hopping and think they're a very simple. I want to make my own centerpieces but like I said I'm not creative but I'm going to make it work(maybe)! I've also been debating on the "first look" for our wedding?? I've seen tons of blogs talk about the first look and the pictures are absolutely to die for. While the "first look" would totally be untraditional I'm really considering just because I think it would be a neat experience. If you aren't familiar with what the "first look" is it's right before the ceremony and you are all dolled up dress, make-up, everything and your soon to be husband the same get to see eachother. He waits turned in a opposite direction as you come from behind....well and you get the point from there. I don't know I think I may do it! Who follows tradition anway these days??! Well let me know what you think, I was unsure of it until I read on a photographers blog what she had to say about the first look. here's the link to some pics of couples first look that got me interested in the first look....

Wedding Dress!!!

Agghhhh.........I'm so excited I'm going to order my wedding dress next week and I can't wait, it's been a lil stressful because I wasn't for sure if I was going to be able to afford it but thanks to God with him all things are possible. Also, I have an awesome fiance and great family that have helped me get the dress of my dreams!! I've thought about posting a picture of it but I'm not sure if I should or not???? It's supposed to be a surprise for everyone right?? Let me know if you think I should post a picture of it or not?? I cannot wait!

Ohhh and a few of my great friends went with me when I had gone to try on wedding dresses and they also helped me make a big decision on "the one" and we also found the most beautiful bridesmaids dresses!! I can't wait to see how they all look in them. I'm so blessed to have awesome friends who love me!!

I'm almost ready to fianlize our guest list, but it seems like once I get ready to finish, we add another. Wedding Colors

The colors for the wedding are going to be red. I'm thinking deep red, but I would like to have a variety of reds so we'll see. Maybe red and brown?? I don't know yet but I do know that I want to use RED. I want to use a champagne color, golds, and ivory. I haven't quite figured out how I want to incorporate all the colors but I know I want to use them if I can. Here is a theme board I found and I love it. I also found a centerpiece that is cute. I would like to use the tall vases like on every other table or on our table. Let me know what you think about both!

Church Pews

I really really like these pomander balls, and I would like to use them somehow for the pews in the church and at the reception. I want to hang them somehow outside the pew like on a plant holder. I've seen a few pictures of it done, but I'm not sure! What do you think?

Guest Book Ideas

I think this is a really cute idea instead of having a guestbook. You can get smooth rocks and have guests write on them with sharpies! This way they can be displayed forever. Let me know what you think.

About Us

Well for those of you who do not know about Benito and I, I would like to share a little bit of info about us and how we met. Benito and I have been together for two years now, and God willing we'll begin our lives as one on November 7, 2009. I'm so excited! We met through mutual friends and we're so blessed to have each other.

Benito and I moved to Snyder last October. We both really like Snyder but we miss Lubbock like crazy. God willing after we get married we can move back to Lubbock and finish school. Benito and I really love Snyder but I think we loved Lubbock more.

Benito is originally from Brownfield, but he grew up most of his life in Lubbock. He is the second oldest of five siblings. Two sisters and two brothers. He also has two nieces who love him dearly. Benito has his CDL and is driving a truck for Globe Energy in Snyder. He loves his job, but he would like to finish school. He is a very talented guy. Benito likes to build things and stay busy. Benito recently built a fence type thing around my mom's deck. He did an awesome job. I'll try to post some pictures of it soon. He's a very hard worker and doesn't ever give up! I love him! He attended South Plains College, and Texas Tech. He's a very intelligent man! God willing after we get married he can pursue his education.

I'm originally from Snyder, but I moved to Lubbock after I graduated in 2005. I attended South Plains College as well, but I'm still uncertain on what I want to do....I really need to figure it out though. I have so many dreams and want to do a lot of things. One of my big dreams is to attend Texas Tech, so God willing I'll be able to fulfill that dream!I work at a small hospital about twenty-three miles from Snyder, but I'm still trying to find a job in Snyder. Hopefully something will come up soon because I really do not enjoy driving, it's not that bad but it's not very fun. I have one sibling and his name is Jude. We're twenty years apart, can you believe it? Yes I said twenty! He's a cool little man!

We've been engaged for little less than a year now and we're ready to tie the knot! I created this blog as a way for our family and friends to keep up with us as we're getting ready for the biggest day of our lives!! I'll try to post ideas for our wedding and recent things that are going on with us. We love you all and thanks for all of the support throughout our journey of getting our wedding planned!
